Graymont is a neighborhood in Birmingham, Alabama. The boundaries of the neighborhood are 8th Avenue West to the north, Center Street North to the east, the railroad tracks south of 3rd Avenue West is the southern boundary and Arkadelphia Road to the west. The zip code for Graymont is 35204. On the perimeter of this neighborhood it is very commercial. There are large industrial type parks along several of the borders. There are also many apartments and multi-family homes along with single family homes that are from the early 20th century. There are many homes in the bungalow style.

Legion Field Stadium has the nickname the “Old Gray Lady.” It has been a big part of the sports scene in Birmingham since the first game was played there in 1926. It is now the home field for the University of Alabama at Birmingham but is still the backup field for The University of Alabama and their “Crimson Tide.” Many famous people have played and coached here including Joe Namath and Bear Bryant and this is still a very popular venue. It can seat over 80,000 and has parking for 4,000. It is located in the northwest corner of the Graymont neighborhood.

McLendon Park is the home to Legion Field Stadium. Beyond that, there are soccer fields that are used by local soccer leagues. The remainder of the park is mostly just open grass.

Smithfield Library is a historic branch of the Birmingham Public Library. It was originally founded to be a library for the black residents of Birmingham. It moved to its current location in the Graymont neighborhood in 1956. The library is open Monday-Saturday 9am to 6pm.
