The Elvira neighborhood is a model of convenience, especially for travelers. It is less than a half mile from Interstate 19, and not much farther from the Tucson International Airport. This airport, sometimes referred to as TIA, is important to this part of the American Southwest. It is served by more than one airline carrier, and owing to typically favorable weather, flight cancellations are uncommon. The terminal is large, as is the parking area, to deal with both incoming and outgoing visitors.

The Elvira community also contains Elvira Elementary School and is less than a mile from Challenger Middle School. Both of these schools serve this community well.

The area isn’t heavily populated. The housing is primarily low cost. This makes the neighborhood great for first-time home buyers. There isn’t a great deal of vegetation in or around the community, although some of the homes do have established trees.

The neighborhood is well served by local churches of different denominations. A number of restaurants see to the needs of the community. The area also has several businesses that help the neighborhood in many ways. Elvira is near South 6th Avenue, giving the community easy access to other parts of Tucson and to the interstate highway. There are also a few parks within a mile or so of Elvira, which gives neighborhood residents a chance to get out and relax.

Elvira is a location with a great deal of potential for growth. It isn’t surprising that many families are looking at this neighborhood as a great place to call home.
