Just before the Oracle Shopping plaza, on West Wetmore Road, is the neighborhood of Moreland Vista. This pre-1960 neighborhood still maintains West Schafer Drive’s original style and grace, with a collection of timeless ranch-style homes. While the city of Tucson, Arizona, has grown and expanded over the years, the Moreland Vista neighborhood has remained an oasis of tranquility.

The Moreland Vista neighborhood follows West Schafer Drive, beginning east of North Lake Drive. The homes on the north side of West Schafer Drive form the boundary at the rear of the properties, while North Fairview Avenue acts as the eastern border. The houses on the east and south side of West Schafer Drive form the southern boundary.

While close to shopping, the Moreland Vista neighborhood has no limit on local activities, with the Quail Canyon Golf Course to the north and the Tucson Mountain Park just west of Interstate 10. The Catalina Foothills are to the east, and a quick trip south on I-10 brings you to Reid Park and Zoo, as well as the El Rio Golf Course.

Small decorative walls surround most of the ranch-style homes in Moreland Vista, with a few Hacienda and Spanish-style houses mixed in for variety. Water-saving desert landscaping is prevalent here, although a few residents opt for grass and fruit trees over stones and cacti. The rest of the neighborhood has large shade trees to help cool the homes during the summer months.

The main street through the Moreland Vista neighborhood of West Schafer Drive bends from its typical east to west direction as it heads south briefly to meet with West Wetmore Road. On the eastern side, West Schafer Drive connects to the service road of North Fairview Avenue behind the Auto Mall complex. Sun Tran Bus Line route number 61 runs along West Wetmore Road.
