The University of Southern California Marshall School of Business is only about five miles from Southeast Los Angeles, and it is one of the most well-renowned and desirable schools of business in the state. The Los Angeles Trade Technical College, catering to those who want to focus on one technical path of study, is also near Southeast Los Angeles.
The Southeast Los Angeles neighborhood is near the well-known Los Angeles International Airport, more commonly referred to as LAX. The Hawthorne Municipal Airport and the Compton Woodley Airport are much smaller, and they are closer to the community.
The Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area is to the northwest of Southeast Los Angeles. There are 100 picnic tables located throughout this massive park. It offers a lotus pond, a half-basketball court, a lake for recreation, a baseball field, four playgrounds for children, a multiple purpose sports field, and a volleyball court. It is also known for its five miles of hiking trails.
