The Baymeadows Center neighborhood is close to the St. Johns River and southeast of downtown Jacksonville. It is dominated by the seven-building, four-story Freedom Commerce Center, which is home to many businesses. Residences in the immediate area list from $40,000 to more than $600,000.

What makes this area unique is the park, wetlands, and nature preserve bordering on the south of Freedom Commerce Center. The park features Charlie’s Pond, which is situated on the northern end. Just to the east, there is another nature reserve surrounded by higher-end homes.

Baymeadows Center is literally surrounded by a myriad of hotels, restaurants, coffee houses, and bars. There are no schools within the community. The nearest hotels are concentrated on the northern edge of the neighborhood and include the Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn, La Quinta, Residence Inn, and Quality Inn.

There are some apartment complexes nearby. They include Madison at Bay Pointe, the Mirador at River City, and the Stovall at River City.

For restaurants, Baymeadows Center residents enjoy Beef O’Brady’s, Tombo’s, Steak & Ale, Phillip Sushi, Tijuana Flats, the Backstreet Café, and Buffalo Wild Wings.

For golf lovers, Deerwood Country Club is practically within walking distance of the neighborhood. The University of North Florida Arena is also in the area.

Interstate 95 borders the Baymeadows Center community and can be used to either travel north to the excitement that is downtown Jacksonville or south and east toward the beaches. The neighborhood’s proximity to the St. Johns River provides opportunities for boating, fishing and sightseeing.
