The neighborhood of Phoenix is in the city of Jacksonville, Florida. This is mid-sized neighborhood is only minutes from downtown and several area parks.

Phoenix is situated just south of Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway, which makes it quite convenient to get around the city. When you drive through Phoenix you will find it to be a pretty mature area. There are full-grown trees and vegetation throughout. Most all of the houses are mid- to late-eighties homes, but definitely not short on appeal.

There are two parks within a few blocks of the Phoenix community, Kooker and Edwards Parks. Kooker, the larger of the two, is used mainly for baseball and softball games and does have a soccer field, as well. Edwards Park has just one baseball field and tennis courts. Neither of these parks are your typical places to go if you want to picnic, but if your kids have a baseball game, this is a nice place to watch them enjoying their sport.

A few miles to the north of Phoenix is Jennings Park. This park is the perfect getaway if you want to spend a day enjoying nature and having a picnic. Jennings Park offers hiking, fishing, camping, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, and bike trails. The fishing here is very good and will satisfy any angler’s desire for a day’s catch.

This community has the convenience of a new metro transit system getting residents to the port or downtown easily. Downtown is definitely the place to be for entertainment and dining. Taking advantage of the new metro transit system will give Phoenix residents an all-access pass to everything that downtown Jacksonville has to offer. With live shows, NFL football, nightclubs, and any cuisine you can think of, downtown Jacksonville will always have something exciting for locals and visitors to do.
