Downtown Marketplace at Ponce de Leon Park has a farmers market each Saturday. Along with great local produce, shoppers are treated to music, storytelling, arts, and crafts.

Not far south sits the Tallahassee Museum, which offers several historic buildings, a nature trail, and a full calendar of arts festivals. Favorites include Halloween Howl, The Swamp Stomp, and The Jazz and Blues Festival. These events are entertainment and history combined.

Children and parents enjoy The Challenger Learning Center. The center was created by FSU and FAMU to encourage interest in math and science through entertaining exhibits. The IMAX, Space Mission Simulator, and planetarium are always popular.

San Luis is close to many recreational areas, including the half-million acre Apalachicola National Forest. Several state parks are close as well.
