The community encompasses Wolcott Drive and Main Street as well as parts of North 93rd Street and North 95th Street. Stops for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad are nearby.

Interstate 435 is the southeastern border of Wolcott. The neighborhood’s proximity to the freeway puts all the cultural and historical attractions of Kansas City within easy reach of residents. The National Agricultural Center, which features a museum on the history of farming and showcases equipment that dates back over 200 years, is just under five minutes to its southwest. The Wyandotte County Museum and the Lansing Historical Museum offer a localized view of history.

The National World War I Museum at Liberty Memorial attracts people from all over the country and beyond, and it’s only a few minutes’ drive southeast of the community. It houses one of the larger and comprehensive collections of World War I artifacts in the world that are currently on public display. Other museums that attract many local residents include Grinter Place Museum, Old Quindaro Museum, and The Doll Museum.

It’s a family-friendly neighborhood with many well-regarded local schools within easy walking or driving distance. Piper Elementary School and Piper Junior-Senior High School serve residents. Children can also attend Walcott School, which is noted for its caring teaching staff, Bethel Elementary School, and White Church Elementary School. Teens can attend Washington High School.
