Christopher Woods Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Christopher Woods is a secluded neighborhood of stately homes that can only be accessed by Pocono Road, off Flint Road, in Columbus. East Campus View Boulevard runs just south of the community, while I-270 is approximately one mile south.
True to the park-like setting of the neighborhood, parks and country clubs are nearby. The 761-acre Sharon Woods Metropolitan Parks, with 14-acre Schrock Lake, is just to the east. Highbanks Metropark, which has 100-foot bluffs overlooking the Olentangy River, is a great birding park to the west. Both parks are popular with joggers, bicyclists, and dog lovers. The Olentangy Greenway Trail, a 12-mile trail along the Olentangy River, runs through several other parks located along this scenic river.
A bit farther away is the Hoover Reservoir Park, owned by the city of Columbus. It is a popular place for boating, fishing, and hiking. Alum Creek State Park is another boating and fishing area popular with Columbus residents.
Within walking distance of the Christopher Woods neighborhood is the York Temple Country Club, founded in 1924 by the Masons. While it is still owned by Masons, membership is available to non-Masons. Brookside Country Club and Worthington Hills Country Club are also convenient for Christopher Woods residents and provide all the luxury and facilities one expects in a fine club. As might be expected in the hometown of Jack Nicklaus, golf courses, both public and private, seem to be everywhere.
An abundance of shopping centers and malls serve this area. Polaris Fashion Place is a favorite, featuring Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, and 150 specialty stores. There are eight restaurants as well.
Several small private colleges and universities are nearby, including Otterbein College a few miles east. The Ohio State University, with 50,000 students, is a short drive away.
