The Greenwood neighborhood in Nashville, has a neighborhood association. The community is located on the east side of Nashville. Ellington Parkway borders Greenwood on the west side, with Douglas Avenue on the north border. Gallatin Avenue runs along Greenwood on the east side. Cleveland Street turns into West Eastland Avenue just under the south boundary. Cleveland Park is close by to the west, on the other side of Ellinton Parkway. Because the parkway is a busy street, children should be accompanied by adults on foot, or a car should be used, to reach the park.

The area is filled with single-family homes, with a mixture of styles, developed primarily between 1880 and 1942. Architectural styles that can be seen in this neighborhood are Queen Anne, Classical Revival, Craftsman, Tudor Revival, Bungalow and others. It is not a cookie-cutter neighborhood.

Gallatin Avenue, on the east side of the Greenwood neighborhood, offers Hunan Chinese restaurant, Walmart, Rite Aid drug store, Tennessee Kabob restaurant and Itza Pizza. Across the street from Gallatin Avenue is a Kroger grocery store. Holland House Bar and Refuge is within the Greenwood neighborhood on Eastland Avenue.

Schools that service the Greenwood neighborhood are Hattie Cotton Elementary School, Ross Elementary School, East Academy, Glenn Enhanced Option Elementary School, Lockeland Elementary School, Greenwood High School and Maplewood Comp High School.

Churches in the area include House of Blessing on Gallatin Avenue, Christ Church Cathedral on Broadway and Downtown Presbyterian Church on 5th Avenue North.
