East Cesar Chavez is a neighborhood in Austin, Texas. The neighborhood is located along Interstate 35 on the western border, with 7th Street to the north, and Festival Beach to the south. Virtually all of the homes in the area were built before 1980, with the greatest building boom happening before 1940. The park has several baseball fields and is home to many area youth baseball leagues. The park is also loaded with picnic areas, a large playground, and some great trails. Many walkers, runners, and cyclists take advantage of the trails that go through the park and the surrounding area, providing many miles of quality exercise.

About a quarter of a mile to the west on the opposite side of Interstate 35 is the Mexican American Cultural Center. With the large Hispanic population in Austin, Mexican American Culture is very important to many of the residents. The cultural center was created in order to preserve the culture. Exhibits feature a wide variety of artwork, photographs, and many other cultural items that show the creativity and history of Mexican Americans.
