When the team was drilling into what they thought was 40 feet of solid limestone, they found that it wasn’t so solid after all. Inner Space Caverns is one of the best preserved caves in Texas.

One cannot mention Georgetown with mentioning Southwestern University. Established in 1872, Southwestern is Texas’ oldest institution of higher learning. Southwestern is a national liberal arts university that offers an intimate and challenging academic platform.

Lake Georgetown is a popular destination for swimming, hiking, camping, and more. There are also five golf courses in Georgetown, two of which are public.
