Apple Valley Neighborhood
Apple Valley is a pleasant neighborhood in Birmingham. The community is situated along Apple Valley Lane, and its residents enjoy a great deal of peace and quiet. Heavy forest pockets provide shade as well as a buffer from the big city of Birmingham. Homes in Apple Valley have a good mix of construction styles, with the majority having exclusively brick or a combination of brick and wood siding. Many also have half basements, large front yards, and attractive landscaping.
Apple Valley is a wonderful place in which to rear a family. Quite a few attractions are nearby. One of the more popular is off Fox Hill Drive and Center Point Parkway, within walking distance of the neighborhood. This is where many families get together for youth sports like baseball and soccer. There are also numerous tennis courts that are used by many residents for general as well as for league play.
The area is also home to a number of churches, among them the Center Point Presbyterian Church off Center Point Parkway, Center Point Church of Nazarene off Westchester Drive, and Wood Clay Baptist Church off Wood Drive. Various Christian and non-Christian denominations have houses of worship in the area.
As far as commercial development, this Alabama community is quite removed from it. This allows residents to enjoy quiet roads with little traffic. There is, however, a pocket of development that is perfect for shopping and dining off Center Point Parkway, about a mile to the south. Since the area is used mostly by residents, it is a great place to meet neighbors.
