Forest Park Neighborhood

The Forest Park neighborhood is conveniently located south of Interstate 20 and east of the Red Mountain Expressway in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. Trinity Medical Center, which is located just south of the neighborhood on Montclair Road, provides the communities medical needs.

Four parks are within the neighborhood: Altamont Park, Rushton Park, Rhodes Park, and Avondale Park. Located close to the community, residents can enjoy picnics, peaceful walks, and other outdoor activities throughout the year.

Highland Park Golf Course is a favorite spot among local Birmingham golfers. Originally established in 1903, and the oldest golf course in Alabama, the course is located in the middle of the Forest Park community.

The community is close to downtown Birmingham where many museums are located. The Birmingham Museum of Art, Southern Museum of Flight, and the Samuel Ullman Museum are located close to one another and the community.

The community’s educational needs are provided by the Riverchase Elementary School, Pizitz Middle School, and the Springville High School. The University of Alabama at Birmingham is a world-renowned research university and medical center located in the area.

The Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is located north of Interstate 20 minutes from the Forest Park neighborhood. Visitors to the area can expect excellent service from the facility. Hotels in the area include the Sheraton Birmingham Hotel, The Redmont Hotel, Doubletree Hotel, Tutwiler Hotel, and the Hotel Highland.

The Summit Birmingham and the Eastwood Mall are area shopping centers located conveniently to Forest Park where residents can enjoy dining, shopping, or a movie.
