Bridlewood Neighborhood

Bridlewood is an attractive neighborhood tucked away in the forests of Birmingham. The heavily wooded area provides great scenery and a wonderful tranquility that just can’t be found in the other parts of town. Homes in this community have great character, with beautiful red brick and wood siding exteriors. Quiet roads provide opportunities for residents to walk their dogs, play basketball, and even toss around a football. It is also common to see Bridlewood residents running through the neighborhood on the roads and sidewalks.

The neighborhood is also surrounded by schools, with E. B. Erwin High School, Sun Valley Elementary, and Jefferson State Community College to the north; Huffman High School to the east; and Robert C. Arthur Elementary to the south. Each school also has a number of amenities available, among them playgrounds, athletic fields, and sports courts.

Outside Bridlewood but within a mile of the neighborhood are several churches representing a number of denominations. Some of the largest include the Cathedral of the Cross off Center Point Parkway, Carson Road Baptist Church, and Winewood Baptist Church, off Winewood Road.

Also along Center Point Parkway are numerous restaurants, car dealerships, and other retailers. Most of the businesses serving the neighborhood are small, local operations, but there are some nationally recognized brands as well. Restaurants include a nice assortment of quick-service and sit-down eateries. There are also a number of grocery stores in this area, such as the Walmart Neighborhood Market and Fred’s Grocery Store.
