Centennial Hill Neighborhood

Homes in the Centennial Hill neighborhood range from small bungalows to elegant two-stories. Sidewalks give easy access to nearby attractions. The Centennial Hill neighborhood is bound by Alabama Street, South Union Street, I-85, and South Hull Street.

Residents of Centennial Hill enjoy being near many of Montgomery’s great festivals and cultural sites – and a varied lineup it is.

The center of many of the cultural events in Montgomery is at nearby Wynton M. Blount Cultural Park. This impressive park is the home of The Alabama Shakespeare Festival, the sixth largest event of its kind in the world. The cultural park is also the home of the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts and the scene of frequent outdoor performances by the Montgomery Symphony and Ballet. It is a great area for walking, with outdoor art and statues, the Shakespeare Garden, and the lake.

The Hank Williams Museum is heavily visited year round. It features the legendary singer’s Cadillac along with other memorabilia. There is a statute of Williams near the City Auditorium. The Hank Williams Festival, celebrating the legendary singer, is another popular event.

Along the banks of the Alabama River is a relatively new addition to Montgomery. The Riverwalk Stadium located here is home field for the Montgomery Biscuits baseball team. Other facilities include an amphitheater, a skate park, and a splash pad.

Within a mile or so from the Centennial Hill area are the Alabama State Capitol, the Civil Rights Memorial, and an amazing number of universities. Auburn University at Montgomery is in the Centennial Hill neighborhood. Alabama Community College, and Troy University are within walking distance. Two other schools are just south of I-85, Alabama State University and Huntingdon College.

Maxwell Air Force Base is only a few miles west.
