Earthquake Park is one of Alaska’s most amazing historical places, noted for being the site where massive amounts of land were rocked by a 9.2 earthquake in 1964. Consequently, huge portions of land literally slid into the water.
Lake Spenard is a rural area where boats and floatplanes, used to fly throughout Alaska’s wilderness, are harbored. Spenard residents enjoy gorgeous sightseeing expeditions by boat throughout the magnificent fjords in the area. Other things to do in Spenard include visiting the Heritage Museum and enjoying spectator sports – especially hockey, at the Sullivan Arena.
