Eastside Neighborhood

The Eastside neighborhood is bordered by Broadway Boulevard on the north, East 22nd on the south, Harrison Road on the east, and Houghton Road on the west. Eastside is a relatively new neighborhood situated in a typically mid-scale part of Tucson.

Eastside neighborhood is a family place, with many mid-priced homes and quite a sprinkling of apartments. The homes are traditional brick-slump, block homes that were built during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Mixed in with these homes are newer developments, and construction on new homes continues today. Most yards are landscaped with Mesquite or Palo Verde trees, along with flowering cacti.

Lakeside Park and Michael Perry Park are in the Eastside neighborhood. Lakeside boasts a small lake where residents come to fish. Lakeside is also the site of many neighborhood sports leagues, because of the baseball diamond and basketball courts offered here. Michael Perry Park has playgrounds and little league fields, as well as picnic areas for residents to celebrate birthdays or other special events.

Residents are just a short drive away from the Saguaro National Park East, which has more than 165 miles of hiking trails and offers camping spots as well as picnic areas.

Just a little bit further away is Colossal Cave Mountain Park. Residents and visitors can tour the caves and delight in the underground caverns. They can also explore the park and learn about wildlife and vegetation.

The Eastside neighborhood is home to many families that enjoy the parks, state parks, and everything else that this neighborhood has to offer.
