Mountain 1st Avenue Neighborhood

The Mountain 1st Avenue neighborhood is in the central part of Tucson and is bordered by Mountain Avenue, Grant Road, First Avenue and Glenn Street.

Since the neighborhood is only one mile from the University of Arizona, many students reside in the area. Mountain 1st Avenue neighborhood is a mix of single-family homes as well as rental homes and apartments. Many of the homes were built in the 1950s and 1960s. Most are built out of brick, but some are stucco. Homes in this area are moderately priced and rental homes are very affordable.

Mitchell Park is in the Mountain 1st Avenue neighborhood. Residents use the park for jogging, walking and dog exercise. The park has a designated off-lease dog park so dogs can run and play. There is a playground for children and picnic tables are available for use.

Residents can enjoy an evening out to dinner at the Mandarin Grill, where patrons enjoy Chinese cuisine, with dishes such as Honey Walnut Shrimp and Mandarin Grill Cantonese House Chow Mein. Another great place to go is the Golden Nugget. After University of Arizona games, students and fans alike enjoy a drink while watching one of the four big screen TVs.

Mountain 1st Avenue neighborhood is close to downtown Tucson and residents only have a short drive to attend such annual events as the Fourth Avenue Street Fair or visit the Tucson Museum of Art.

Mountain 1st is a charming neighborhood and with its central location, residents have easy access to all of Tucson’s attractions and events.
