Outer Tanque Verde Neighborhood

Outer Tanque Verde is a great neighborhood for nature lovers, as it is close to local parks as well as a scenic national park Case Park, McDonald District Park, Roy P. Drachman Agua Caliente Regional Park, and Villa Alegre Park are all within a distance of a few miles from Outer Tanque Verde. All of these beautiful parks offer various opportunities for recreation, for the neighborhood, and each harbors the beautiful wildlife and plants of the Sonora Desert.

This community is also roughly the same distance from Saguaro National Park. This national park is named for the towering Saguaro cactus, the famous cactus that has come to symbolize the American Southwest. Over fifty other kinds of cacti can be seen in the park. At around 60,000 acres, Saguaro National Park is certainly not the largest national park, however it is one of the most beautiful and its environment is utterly unique to the American Southwest.

The park has well over 150 miles of hiking trails for simple hour-long hike to full-day walks. This park also offers camping, and a seemingly endless variety of flora and fauna. Some of the trees found here are surprising to many people, ranging from large Ponderosa pines, to junipers, and even aspens at the 9,000 foot high peak of the park. All of this gives the residents great recreational activities to choose from.

The community of Outer Tanque Verde is also near schools and businesses. As one would expect of a neighborhood so close to a national park, much of this area is rustic and lovely, with wild animals common guests in the area.
