Terra Del Sol Neighborhood

The Terra Del Sol area of Tucson, Arizona is a square block contained by South Kolbe Road, East Golf Links Road, South Wilmot Road, and East 22nd Street. The zip code is 85710. Terra Del Sol was the first planned community in Tucson and was built in 1956, but the Terra Del Sol Neighborhood Association was not formed until 1994. The local university is the University of Phoenix.

To the Southeast of the Terra Del Sol community within only a few miles is Davis Monthan Air Force Base. The base brings numerous jobs to the area as well as a great deal of revenue. Many of the military personnel also live off-base and will find homes for rent or to own within the community.

Recreation in the Terra Del Sol community can be found in a variety of places. The most obvious place is immediately within the community itself. The Terra Del Sol Park located off Avenue Del Sol is a small community park that has only the most basic of amenities.

The playground in Terra Del Sol Park is easily the most popular in the area and is in regular use by area children. Next to the playground is a small pool and hot tub that residents enjoy during the hot summer months. Also in the park is a picnic area where many residents get together for small celebrations and pot lucks with neighbors. The park provides plenty of open space that many dog owners use for socializing their dogs.

It is also important to note that the Tucson International Airport is only about 9 miles southwest of Terra Del Sol. This airport provides continuous transportation in and out of the region to virtually any destination in the world.
