Steeplechase Neighborhood

The Steeplechase neighborhood is close to nature in the Calabasas-Agoura Hills area, yet is only blocks from convenient commutes on the Ventura Freeway. A gated community built in 1989, Steeplechase combines modern amenities like a community pool, spa, gym, and clubhouse with the serenity of its location.

The Steeplechase development is southeast of the intersection of Lost Hills Road and Malibu Hills Road. A natural greenbelt borders it on one side, and includes an arroyo lined with trees. Steeplechase is also close to the small local business area, in a convenient location for people who work in the area’s budding industrial developments. The zip code for Steeplechase is 91301.

Lupin Hill School is the public elementary school that serves Steeplechase. Children who graduate from Lupin Hill attend Arthur E. Wright Junior High School and go on to Calabasas High School. The school district also offers an alternative study program. Pepperdine University is directly down Las Virgenes Road in Malibu. It is only one of the many distinguished institutions of higher learning in the Los Angeles area.

Many Steeplechase residences have sweeping views of the surrounding Santa Monica Mountains. Homes are of Spanish Mediterranean design, topped with the typical red tile roofs. Grounds are luxuriant and well tended, and security patrols add to the safety of an already serene neighborhood.

Grocery shopping and other services are within half a mile. Celebrity quality shopping is found in nearby downtown Calabasas, as well as in Agoura Hills. Calabasas holds a pumpkin festival each year in October, a real carnival with rides, games, live music, and educational demonstrations. The city party is held at Juan Batista de Anza Park, a beautiful site about a mile south of Steeplechase.
