Emerald Lake Hills Neighborhood

Emerald Lake Hills is a neighborhood in Redwood City, California, in the 94062 zip code. The borders of the neighborhood are Edgewood Road to the north, Edgewood County Park on the west, and Wilmington Way on the south. The area is hilly; some of the homes seem to be perched on the side of the hills. The majority of the homes are single-family detached homes. For the most part, this is an upscale neighborhood, with many homes dating from the 1920s.

Edgewood County Park is well known in the area for its gorgeous display of wild flowers every spring. Some of the species are extremely rare. At 467 acres, it has a lot of offer. There are five trails in the park ranging from 3/4 of a mile to 2.5 miles. Horses are allowed on all trails except the 2.5 mile trail which is an exercise loop. In addition to hiking, picnicking is a favorite pastime. Wildflower tours are offered in the spring, and monthly bird walks are offered year round.

Garrett Park is a neighborhood city park. It has a playground, picnic tables, and grills. It is a popular place for families to gather. Lower Emerald Lake is owned by the Emerald Lake Country Club. Members have access to the lake for swimming, boating and fishing. The lake is known for its emerald colored water.

Sequoia Hospital is located just outside the neighborhood. This is a teaching hospital with an excellent cardiac center, first class emergency, and women’s care.

When residents need to grocery shop, there are several local markets in the neighborhood. Another option is the Whole Foods Market on Jefferson Avenue.
