Mid-City West Neighborhood

Mid-City West is a densely populated neighborhood southwest of West Hollywood, bordering Beverly Hills on the east side. A large portion of the neighborhood runs along Beverly Boulevard, before it meets Santa Monica Boulevard. It’s a residential and business community.

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center of Los Angeles is within the Mid-City West community. It is a major medical center, serving the neighborhood and beyond. Cedars-Sinai is a full-service hospital, and it specializes in family diabetes outpatient treatment, androgen-related disorders, inpatient surgery, hemodialysis, and obstetrics. With almost 900 beds for patients, it’s a large hospital. Due to its proximity to Beverly Hills, it has served many celebrities and, as such, has found itself in the news quite a few times.

La Cienega Park borders the neighborhood of Mid-City West. It lies between Shumacher Drive and Gregory Way, and runs along the west and east sides of LaCienega Boulevard. It has a playground for children, a community center for all ages, tennis courts, two ball fields, and even a walking and jogging track.

One of the more remarkable aspects of the neighborhood is the massive Beverly Center. Beverly Center is an eight-story, upscale mall with over 160 stores and restaurants. It has several stories of parking alone, with an automated payment machine that has a curious British accent. Its eighth story is a food court, and the mall has both a Starbucks and a Coffee Bean.

Real Food Daily, the most famous organic, vegetarian restaurant in Los Angeles, is near the Beverly Center within the Mid-City West neighborhood. Ann Gentry, its famous chef and founder, can sometimes be seen here, as can many major celebrities.
