Ladera Heights Neighborhood

Perched loftily in the hills of west Los Angeles California, the views from Ladera Heights are beautiful. The Pacific Coast (just four miles away) is visible from the higher elevations. This wealthy, predominately African-American neighborhood is north of Los Angeles International Airport and 12 miles from downtown LA.

Ladera Heights is bordered on the northeast side by the Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area. This large park contains over seven miles of hiking trails, four playgrounds, a fishing lake, a volleyball court, baseball diamonds, and picnic areas. Ladera Park is over 15 acres and features an outdoor amphitheater, a playground, a ball field, a basketball court, tennis courts, a recreation center, and picnic areas. West Los Angeles Junior College is located in the northwestern corner of Ladera Heights.
