Martens-Carmelita Neighborhood

Martens-Carmelita is a neighborhood in Mountain View, California in the 94040 zip code. The borders of the neighborhood are Grant Road on the west, Sleeper Avenue on the south, West Valley Freeway on the east, and East El Camino Real on the north. The neighborhood is made up of quiet tree-lined streets with charming homes in a variety of styles including craftsman bungalows. Public transportation is available and there are sidewalks throughout the neighborhood.

Menlo Park Presbyterian Church has three locations throughout the bay area. With San Mateo, Menlo Park and the Mountain View locations, there is a place for everyone to worship.

The Frank L. Huff Elementary School is located in the neighborhood. They offer classes for grades Kindergarten through 5th grade and have received a distinguished rating from Great Schools. The YMCA program Kids Place offers after school care at this school.

St Timothy’s Pre-School is a nondenominational school that has been providing a nurturing learning environment for three and four year olds for 50 years. They are exposed to music, literature, and even science on their own level.

The Grant Road Plaza Shopping Center has several local grocery markets, restaurants and a Marshalls. It is located on the west side of Grant Road.

Just to the west of the southern part of the neighborhood is Cuesta Park. This is a green space where every member of the family can enjoy themselves. There is a very nice playground, an off leash dog area, and tennis courts. Families enjoy the picnic tables and open play spaces.
