The Sierra Gardens neighborhood encompasses roughly .814 square miles on the southeast side of Roseville, Calif., less than a 25-minute drive from downtown Sacramento. This community is bounded by Douglas Boulevard on the north, Rocky Ridge Drive on the east, and Interstate 80 and Sunrise Avenue on the west. It is part of Placer County, in the 95661 ZIP code area.
Much of this conveniently located community is residential, consisting mostly of single-family houses. It was home to more than 3,125 people as of 2009. A park by the same name is situated near the center of the neighborhood, adjacent to Eich Intermediate School and Sierra Gardens Elementary School. Walking paths can be found throughout much of the community, making it fairly pedestrian-friendly.
Several commercial offerings can be found throughout this large community as well, and at least three large shopping centers are located immediately to the north, along bounding Douglas Boulevard. This roadway also hosts the Kaiser Permanente Roseville Medical Center, a convenient health care option for residents of Sierra Gardens.
For outdoor recreation, Madiu Park is situated just outside of neighborhood bounds to the east. Spanning 152 acres, this popular outdoor destination offers a long list of amenities and facilities, including a community center, library, multiple athletic fields, covered soccer arena, a walking and biking path, skate park, children’s play area, and picnic areas.
Golfers living in Sierra Gardens may frequent the Diamond Oaks Municipal Golf Course or adjacent Sierra View Country Club, located a few miles to the northwest. Whether one is looking for an affordable, yet challenging public course or an exclusive private golfing experience, this area won’t disappoint.
