College Greens Neighborhood

College Greens is a neighborhood in the eastern part of Sacramento. The neighborhood is near the communities of La Riviera and Rosemont and is generally located south of the El Dorado Freeway.

In terms of attractions, those who live in the College Greens community can take advantage of a number of cultural points throughout the Sacramento area. The downtown area is not far from the neighborhood, which means that residents can visit the Governor’s mansion or the State Capitol. Sports fans from the area might opt to attend a Sacramento Kings professional basketball game at the nearby Arco Arena or take in various concerts and shows that appear at the Arena.

College Greens residents have access to a number of community activities. The neighborhood is surrounded by several parks that range in size, proximity, and amenities. The parks in the area include Granite Regional Park, Jefferson School Park, Oki Park, and Glenbrook Park. Shoppers can visit the College Greens Shopping Center. Residents those interested in golf can play at the Cordova Recreation Golf Course. Those with an interest in higher education can attend college at nearby California State University-Sacramento.

Residents of College Greens have a number of transportation options. They enjoy relatively easy access to a light rail system that connects to a number of locations throughout the city. Residents also have reasonable access to a number of freeways that can take them to surrounding areas in Northern California. The El Dorado Freeway connects to Interstates 5, 80, and 305. In addition, College Greens residents can drive to the northwest part of the city and utilize the Sacramento International Airport for more distant travel.
