The neighborhood of Glenbrook is both interesting and varied. This community also has enough points of interest to keep people busy and entertained.
This area contains Glenbrook Park. More than just a conventional park, this park also contains an off-the-leash dog park. The dog park portion has benches and picnic tables set up for pet owners, with mature trees giving shade to both the owners and to the dogs. There is also a dog drinking fountain. The dog park is about an acre, giving plenty of room for exercise for canine friends. The whole of Glenbrook Park encompasses over 17 acres. There are also barbecue and group picnic areas in this park.
On the other side of US Highway 50 is Oki Park, at just over 6 acres. Also nearby is Jefferson School Park, situated near Jefferson Elementary School. This area has bike trails, for the recreation and exercise needs of the younger residents of the community.
Granite Regional Park is in this area, too, and as with the others, it features fully grown trees for shade.
The community of Glenbrook also has easy river access to accommodate fishermen and rafters. The combination of parks and river means that the neighborhood resident doesn’t need to go very far in any direction to find recreation.
There is another major landmark in this area, though. Glenbrook is less than two miles from the campus of the California State University, Sacramento. This well-known college has a motto, “Leadership begins here,” and it lives up to this saying. This is truly a place of academic excellence.
The community of Glenbrook is also near many businesses, and also to a shopping center to see to the needs of the neighborhood. There is a wide range of homes and apartments available to the residents of this area.
