Fisherman’s Wharf Neighborhood

From the sea lions stretched out across the pier to street-side vendors with pots of delicious seafood, there’s no place quite like Fisherman’s Wharf. This popular tourist destination offers non-stop fun with unique shops, top-rated restaurants, street performers, and dozens of attractions. There are a few fishermen who still use this busy area to haul in their daily catch, but this largely tourism-based neighborhood is known for its clam chowder in bread bowls, museums, shopping, hotels, and cruises.

Cruise to Alcatraz, visit the wax museum, stroll along Pier 39, and enjoy the aquarium during the day, then enjoy the restaurants, bars, and nightclubs in the evening. Ghirardelli Sqare features upscale dining, shops, and a beautiful mermaid fountain in the center of the plaza. Other nearby attractions include the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, Pier 41, Russian Hill Park, and the San Francisco Art Institute.
