Makati Neighborhood
Makati is a densely populated community is southeastern San Jose. It is bordered by Cottle Road, Beswick Drive, Blossom Hill Road, and Poughkeepsie Road. With an area of 0.097 square miles, it has a population of approximately 750 residents. Most of the residential buildings in the Makati neighborhood are apartment or condo buildings.
The neighborhood of Makati is very pedestrian-friendly as well as eco-friendly. Bus stops line Blossom Hill Road, Poughkeepsie Road, and Cottle Road, making access to the public transportation system of San Jose within easy reach of any part of the Makati community. The paved sidewalks along the tree-lined streets of the community are also great for pedestrians, and canines and their human companions can often be seen strolling the neighborhood’s streets.
The Kaiser Permanente Medical Center is located within easy walking distance of Makati. It is less than a half-mile to the southeast of the community. Its specialty is psychiatry, but it also houses many other medical offices, from a hearing aid center to the offices of cardiologists.
Miner Park is located only a half-mile west of Makati. The 5.2-acre Miner Park has a playground that is suitable for both toddlers and school-aged children. It also has an exercise course. Calero Park, Palmia Park, and George Page Park are within walking distance of the neighborhood.
Makati and its surrounding areas are popular with college students. Silicon Valley College is a mere two miles southeast of the neighborhood. Carrington College is also two miles southeast of Makati, while Evergreen Valley College is four miles northeast of the community. Golden Gate University is over three miles to the southwest of Makati.
