Vista Park Neighborhood

When a neighborhood like Vista Park is named after the park it has within its borders, one can always be sure that the park itself is well worth visiting. Vista Park is no exception to this rule. As beautiful as the neighborhood of Vista Park is, it is nothing compared to the majesty of the park within it.

Situated at the corner of Guadalupe Parkway and the West Valley Freeway, Vista Park is just about as far south as it’s possible to go from San Jose while remaining within the city. Because of this, many of the parks in the area are especially good. Blossom River and Almaden Lake are quite close by, as are a number of commercial centers.

At less than a mile away, Oakridge Mall, the Hillview Plaza Shopping Center, and Almaden Plaza Shopping Center are all heavily patronized year round. Although each is within walking distance, these shopping areas are actually situated on the other side of a major road that separates them from the Vista Park neighborhood.

Because there are so many places nearby, being in the area feels like being in the center of a small city. This is no small part of what makes Vista Park such a wonderful place in which to live. In addition, central San Jose is only a five-minute drive to the north for even more opportunities.

Schools in the area are especially good. Gunderson High School, which is within walking distance, is a particular standout among area schools. Vista Park is actually one of the best places in all of San Jose in which to rear children. They can also benefit from many cultural attractions in the greater San Jose area, such as the Tech Museum and the Children’s Discovery Museum.
