Logan Neighborhood

The historic neighborhood of Logan is located in central Orange County, California. It is part of zip code 92701 in Santa Ana, California. The main roads traversed by residents in and around Logan are Santa Ana Boulevard and Washington Avenue. Interstate 5, one of the major highways connecting Santa Ana with the greater Southern California area, conveniently borders it.

Logan is a very historical neighborhood. In fact, it is one of the several original Mexican barrios in the area. Its roots trace all the way back to 1886 with the founding of Santa Ana East, a commercial section next to the newly constructed train depot. Logan is famous because it was originally one of the few neighborhoods in Santa Ana where Latinos could purchase a home and live prior to the enactment of the Fair Housing Act and the affordance of similar housing discrimination protections. Logan was also the first sanctioned neighborhood association in Santa Ana, and it has an extensive history of community activism.

Logan residents enjoy spending their free time at Logan Park for a friendly picnics or jogs beneath the shady trees. Residents love to see concerts at the nearby OC Pavilion and take their children to see the animals at the Santa Ana Zoo.
