Welcome to Wine Country! Beautiful Sonoma County is located on the northern coast of California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. The rolling hills are laced with vineyards and wineries, along with farms, natural areas, forests, mountains, and a vibrant coastal region. The highest point, Sonoma Mountain, is home to the Jack London State Historic Park and Fairfield Osborn Preserve.
The county seat of Sonoma County is Santa Rosa. As the area’s largest city and the fifth largest in the Bay Area, Santa Rosa is a delightful combination of urban and rural. The Santa Rosa Creek flows through the city and Annadel State Park extends into the city and toward the Sonoma Mountains. It is common to see herons, egrets, deer, wild turkey, raccoons, opossums, and even the occasional mountain lion and fox in the city. Santa Rosa’s Railroad Square district is a quaint downtown shopping destination. The quiet streets are lined with historic buildings containing restaurants and boutiques.
Universities in Santa Rosa include Santa Rosa Junior College, Sonoma State University, the University of San Francisco-Santa Rosa, and Empire College.
Sonoma County’s western edge is located along the Pacific Ocean. The stunning Bodega Bay features jagged cliffs and a rocky shoreline and is part of the Bodega Marine Reserve, a 362-acre protected area that includes the Bodega Marine Laboratory, a unit of the University of California Natural Reserve System. Many endangered plants and animals can be found in Sonoma County.
This part of California is dotted with picturesque small towns. Sebastopol is one such town, with apple festivals, a charming downtown, parks, and historic sites. Other cities include Cloverdale, Petaluma, Sonoma, and Healdsburg.
Points of interest include Quarryhill Botanic Garden, Fort Ross, Sonoma Coast State Beach, Luther Burbank Home and Gardens, Stillwater Cove, Tolay Lake Regional Park, Sonoma TrainTown Railroad, Armstrong Redwoods State Preserve, and Rancho Petaluma Adobe.

About Our Deals
Apartment Finder utilizes the industry's largest and most complete database of real-time rents and availabilities to help you find an amazing deal on your next rental.
Price Drop
Apartment communities change their rental rates often - sometimes multiple times a day. We track the changes and keep you up to date when a rental rate decreases.
Best Value
"Best value" units are located in buildings rated three stars or higher. We label apartment rentals that are priced significantly less than similar high-quality units nearby.
Rent Specials
Apartment communities regularly advertise deals for new residents. Whether it's a move-in special or a free tv, we locate the rentals that offer a little something extra when you sign your lease.
Note: Based on community-supplied data and independent market research. Subject to change without notice.
