Harbor Gateway South Neighborhood

The coastal city of Torrance, California, combines a beach community atmosphere with city life providing something for all residents. Harbor Gateway South is an inland neighborhood in zip code 90502 but still only minutes away from Torrance Beach and Miramar Park.

South Western Avenue provides the western boundary for the Harbor Gateway South neighborhood. West Sepulveda Boulevard is the southern border. Interstate 405 is the northern boundary. Normandie Avenue creates part of the eastern boundary with the northeastern portion of the boundary created by Interstate 110. The location of the two freeways provides residents with easy access for all directions of travel needs.

The Harbor Gateway South community is a mix of residential and business properties. Homes and rentals can be found in all sizes and types and most have off-street parking. Streets have well maintained sidewalks for pedestrian safety. Public transportation is available on major roads. The majority of streets that run in an east-west direction are numerical throughout the beach areas, making it easy to find addresses even for newcomers to the area.

The Normandie Recreation Center is located inside the community right above West 225th Street. The South Bay Medical Center is also inside the community on West Carson Street. The Alpine Village Shopping Center is outside of Harbor Gateway South on the east, above Torrance Boulevard.

The California State University at Dominguez Hills is a short drive from the neighborhood on East Victoria Street. The Marina at Redondo Beach is also close by, not only for boating but shopping and dining as well. Torrance is a city that provides ample public parking for beach access. Even lifetime residents of the area still enjoy a scenic drive along State Route 1, Pacific Coast Highway. The city of Torrance is part of Los Angeles County.
