Summerwind Neighborhood
The Summerwind neighborhood is located in the city of Torrance, one of the many communities in the large expanse of Los Angeles County. Torrance is located just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean and is in a sizable geographic area generally referred to as the South Bay.
Despite being a heavily residential area with a high population density, Torrance also has a number of parks that can be accessed by local residents. Near the Summerwind neighborhood are the Mardrona Marsh Nature Preserve, Wilson Park, and Hickory Park. The Pacific Ocean is within easy driving distance, so neighborhood residents can enjoy a variety of California beaches. For those willing to do a reasonable amount of driving, the San Gabriel Mountains provide a variety of hiking opportunities.

Golfers can enjoy a round at the Palos Verdes Country Club, the Rolling Hills Country Club, or the Harbor Park Golf Course. Sports fans enjoy traveling to Dodger Stadium for a baseball game or to the Staples Center to catch the Lakers, Clippers, and Kings. In addition, residents have access to a variety of colleges, including Los Angeles Harbor College and California State-Dominguez Hills.
Travel in and around Southern California is typically via freeway. For residents of Summerwind, a number of arteries can be easily accessed. The closest freeways are the 110 and the 405. The community is also very close to the Los Angeles International Airport.
