I-70 Corridor Neighborhood

Located along Interstate 70, the I-70 Corridor straddles the city limits of Arvada and Wheat Ridge and lies just west of Denver. The I-70 Corridor is a mixture of single-family residences, shopping complexes, light industry and heavy industry. It provides quick access to downtown Denver and many local recreational opportunities.

Originally rural farm fields, the I-70 Corridor has developed into three distinct districts – residential, commercial and industrial. One -story ranches, split-level ranches, raised ranches and out-lying farmhouses are located throughout the I-70 Corridor. Apartment complexes, modern condominiums and manufactured housing are located along major thoroughfares and in the eastern part of the neighborhood. Commercial zones lie along the Wadsworth Bypass. Industrial zones lie to the east between Ralston Road and Interstate 70.

The I-70 Corridor lies within the 80002 zip code and is bordered by Garrison Street to the west, Interstate 70 to the south, North Harlan Street to the east, and West 56th Avenue to the north. Most of the neighborhood lies within southern Arvada with parts of the neighborhood located in northern Wheat Ridge and unincorporated Jefferson County.

Entertainment and shopping opportunities are just minutes away in the I-70 Corridor. The expansive Arvada Marketplace Shopping Center contains most national chains, home improvement centers and two warehouse grocery stores. Dining and entertainment can be found throughout Arvada Marketplace, along Wadsworth Boulevard, in Old Town Arvada, and at the nearby Lakeside Amusement Park.

The I-70 Corridor has easy access to some of the most scenic greenbelts, bike paths and parks in the Denver Metro Area. The 6.5-mile long Clear Creek Trail lies within the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt that runs along the southern border of the I-70 Corridor. It’s popular for walking, bicycling, wildlife viewing and even kayaking. Along the northern border of the I-70 corridor is the popular Ralston Creek Trail. Local Columbine Park is popular for basketball and tennis. Terrace Park is popular for softball, its basketball court, the playground equipment and a picnic shelter.
