Park Villas Neighborhood
Park Villas is a small, primarily residential community in Aurora, just east of Denver. It borders the massive Cherry Creek State Park, which calls itself “Denver’s natural backyard playground.” The park offers so much that residents need to go few other places for natural and organized recreation. Bird watching is a common pastime in the park, which offers serene trails and benches on which to sit and observe wildlife.
There are 12 miles of paved trailed in Cherry Creek State Park, as well as a total of 35 miles of multiple-use trails for hikers, bikers, and horseback riders. Paint Horse Stables, which is located at the Parker and Orchard park entrance, caters to horseback riders. Riders do have etiquette considerations within the park, such as not going into areas like the wetland path or beachfront.
When weather permits, skiing is even allowed on some of the trails in Cherry Creek State Park. Ice skating is also allowed in the park when the weather cooperates. However, it can be risky and should only be done in a group, as there are no official ice skating rinks within the park.
Park Villas is the perfect neighborhood for boaters. The Cherry Creek Marina even offers boating lessons and rentals. It also offers boat slips that several residents use to keep their crafts. Kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, and sailboats are frequently used in the park. The park itself is formed around a reservoir that has an 880-acre surface area.
The East Bank Shopping Center is one of the more popular places to shop in the Park Villas neighborhood. It’s located near the majority of restaurants in the area. Eateries within walking distance of Park Villas include Emerald Isle Restaurant, Europa, Wan’s Mandarin House Restaurant, Wendy’s, Chik-Fil-A, and McCarthy’s Sports Bar & Grill.
