Capitol Hill Neighborhood

Capitol Hill is one of the truly incredible neighborhoods in Denver. Located within minutes of some of the best venues in town, Capitol Hill is definitely the place to be. Some of the most fantastic sights can be seen simply by walking around this neighborhood. It is one of the many places in Denver where visitors feel they can never put their cameras down.

Architecture throughout Denver is much more impressive than many would imagine. This is most evident when visiting some of the area churches. One of the most impressive is the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, located off of Logan Street just north of Capitol Hill near the State Capitol Building.

For those looking to see the Denver government, there are numerous area attractions that see frequent daily visitors. The most popular is off of Colfax Avenue and is obviously the State Capitol Building. Leading up to the building is an impressive garden with numerous semicircular walkways, creating a truly amazing view of the Capitol. This garden is located in Civic Center Park, which is a great landmark for finding much of the best Capitol Hill attractions.

Civic Center Park is surrounded by many of the most visited buildings in Denver. One of the most popular for coin collectors and economists is the US Mint, located on the far east of Civic Center Park. To the south of the park is the Denver Museum of Art. Also south of the park is the absolutely massive Denver Public Library, which happens to be next to the Colorado History Museum.

If there wasn’t enough already packed into this small area, one of the largest venues in Denver is located to the west of Civic Center Park, along with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
