Park Hill Neighborhood

The Park Hill neighborhood lies just west of City Park and contains some of the most sophisticated residences in the city of Denver. Elegant Tudors, two story red-brick residences, and single story homes lie along elegant tree-lined streets. Originally platted on 32 acres in 1887, Park Hill now sprawls through East Denver. Today it is subdivided into the South Park Hill, North Park Hill, and Northeast Park Hill neighborhoods.

Each of the three neighborhoods of Park Hill has its own unique characteristics. South Park Hill is the oldest neighborhood and lies next to City Park. The area is mostly residential and comprised of elegant single-family residences with mature growth trees. The main neighborhood thoroughfares have light traffic and beautiful tree-lined medians.

Located just northeast of City Park, the North Park Hill neighborhood is much like its southern neighbor. Most of the neighborhood is residential and comprised mostly of one-story brick single-family residences.

Situated just south of Interstate 70, Northeast Park Hill is a neighborhood that is currently undergoing revitalization. Old shopping complexes have been torn down and replaced with modern stores by national retailers. The neighborhood itself is a combination of single-family homes, apartments, duplexes, and light industry.

The Park Hill neighborhood lies within the 80207 zip code and is bordered by Colorado Boulevard to the west, Quebec Street to the east, East 52nd Avenue to the north, and East Colfax Avenue to the south. Shopping opportunities can be found along Colorado Boulevard, East Colfax Avenue, and Quebec Street.

Residents of South Park Hill and North Park Hill have easy access to the many attractions in City Park. One can golf at the City Park Municipal Course, take in the exhibits at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, see the animals at the Denver Zoo, or take in a paddle boat ride on Ferril Lake. Residents of Northeast Park Hill can enjoy the City of Axum Park, Skyland Park, Martin Luther King Park and the 18-hole course at Park Hill Golf Club.
