West Colfax Neighborhood

West Colfax is a neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. The neighborhood is framed by Federal Boulevard to the east, Sheridan Boulevard to the west, 17th and 19th Avenues to the north, and Lakewood Park, Dry Gulch Park, and Sanchez Park to the south.

For area sports fans, West Colfax is situated perfectly. Invesco Field is located north of Colfax Avenue and east of Federal Boulevard and is home of the professional football team, the Denver Broncos. It is also a popular venue for many area concerts and events.

A short distance away from Invesco Field is the Pepsi Center. This hugely popular sports center is the home of the professional hockey team the Colorado Avalanch, the professional basketball team the Denver Nuggets, the professional Lacrosse team the Colorado Mammoth, and the professional soccer team the Colorado Rapids. During the few gaps when one of these teams isn’t using the stadium, there are other major concerts, shows, and events that are presented here.

Next to the Pepsi Center is another major area destination. One of the largest attractions in the Denver area is Elitch Gardens. This large theme park is filled with roller coasters, water slides, and even a massive wave pool. Many area residents like the park so much that they purchase season passes so they can attend the park throughout the season. The park is even host to many concerts and events routinely scheduled.

For families, another great destination is the Children’s Museum located on Children’s Museum Drive northwest of Elitch Gardens. The Children’s Museum is a great place for kids to experience being an adult. In the museum children can pretend to be firefighters, doctors, or even veterinarians. The museum also has a large train track where children can play with trains, work in an assembly plant where they can design a variety of things, and much more.
