Sixth Ave West Neighborhood

W. Sixth Ave. is a long stretch of road that runs from Denver to Golden, Colorado. It is just north of the 6th Ave. Freeway. For the many stretches in the built-up areas, it is very much like a marginal road insofar that it actually abuts the freeway.

Depending on which stretch you happen to be on, you can be in the middle of the bustling life of commerce and hotels, bordering residential neighborhoods and even a golf course. There are several apartment complexes on or nearby W. Sixth Ave.

There are four hotels on the avenue along with 10 restaurants. The above-mentioned golf course is accessible via W. Tenth Ave. from North Harlan Street off the avenue.

Red Rocks Community College is also located on Sixth Ave. West in Lakewood – about halfway between Denver and Golden.

Living in this area puts you closer to the action and to the goings-on in downtown Denver. And being near to Golden gives you access to three different parks that contain hiking trails and camping facilities, including Golden Gate Canyon State Park.

Golden has a number of museums, including the Buffalo Bill Memorial Museum. And it has Heritage Square, which is a Victorian style shopping village.

Denver is home to several major professional sports franchises, representing baseball (Colorado Rockies), football (Denver Broncos), basketball (Denver Nuggets), and hockey (Colorado Avalanche).

If you like golf, there are many quality courses in the area, including PGA tournament courses.

And, then, of course, there are the nearby Rocky Mountains, with all of the skiing, camping, hiking, gaming and adventure opportunities that abound there.
