Belmar Park Neighborhood

Belmar Park is a medium-sized, primarily residential community in Lakewood, Colorado, just southwest of Denver. West Alameda Avenue serves as the Belmar Park neighborhood’s northern border, while West Mississippi Avenue serves as its southern border. The Belmar Park community is bordered to the east by South Wadsworth Boulevard and to the west by South Garrison Street.

Belmar Park is a 127-acre park that’s the namesake of the neighborhood it lies within. This parkland takes up much of the eastern part of the community. The park holds the Weir Gulch and Kountze Lake. It has a playground for children, walking paths, a bridge with picturesque views, and access to the Lakewood Heritage Center, which serves as a twentieth-century museum. The park is also unique in that it allows only its native greenery, wildflower, trees, and grasslands, without organized planting of outside beautification. It leaves them uncut and untouched, yet the result is a park that is among the most beautiful in the nation.

Belmar Park is a very eco-friendly community. In addition to the all-natural park within its borders, it offers tree-lined streets for easily navigating the area on foot or bike. There are also several bus stops within the neighborhood that run along West Mississippi Avenue and South Garrison Street.

The Rocky Mountain Acting Troupe brings fun and culture to the Belmar Park neighborhood, and it also offers well-respected acting classes in addition to the shows it presents for the community. The Bronze Sculptor of Dance, an award-winning dance school, is located in the community, offering dance lessons to residents of all ages.

Also, the neighborhood is family-friendly. Several great schools are in the neighborhood itself. Kendrick Lakes Elementary School, Jacob Academy, Alameda High School, Patterson Elementary School, and Belmar Elementary School are all within walking distance of the Belmar Park community.
