Leisureville Neighborhood

Dotted with canals and lakes, the lush South Florida neighborhood of Leisureville is in Boynton Beach, less than a mile from the ocean. Its tropical environment, together with its rows of white houses with pastel shutters, makes for a stunning setting for this age-restricted (55 and older) enclave of condominiums and single-family homes.

Residents of the area share many community facilities, including an 18-hole golf course, as well as a heated (and cooled) pool, Jacuzzi, and bocce and shuffleboard courts. Three recreational centers offer a wide range of facilities, including a woodworking shop, full kitchen, library, stage, and sound room.

Conveniently located near Interstate 95, Leisureville is close to two airports, as well as to Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. For area shopping, residents can visit Boynton Beach Mall, with its 100-plus stores. For upscale shopping, Boca Town Center is a short drive away. Sawgrass Mills Mall, which boasts more than 300 designer outlets, is yet another accessible shopping option.

Community members also can enjoy an abundance of recreational opportunities in the Boynton Beach area. Swimming, boating, and fishing are all active pursuits, as is diving, with three major reef systems within the immediate area. Many local dive shops offer day outings.

Oceanfront Park is the main municipal beach in Palm Beach County. In addition, the city offers residents 29 parks, eight recreation centers, and a swimming pool, as well as hundreds of programs for children, teens, adults, and seniors. One popular green space is the Palmetto Greens Linear Park, which has picnic areas, fishing piers, a playground, and a bike trail.
