Beauclerc Neighborhood

Think trees – lots of them. Beauclerc in Jacksonville, Florida, is a traditional, tree-lined neighborhood dominated by verdant, mature trees. Some areas of the neighborhood have an overhanging shady canopy because branches of trees on both sides of the street have interlocked over time, creating a tunnel-like effect for residents and automobiles. Many of the homes in Beauclerc, which are from the 1970s, have larger-than-average lots and big yards. Home designs run the gamut from colonial, traditional, and classic brick to contemporary.

Beauclerc is in the 32257 zip code area. It’s bordered on the west and north by the St. Johns River, I-295 on the south, and Beauclerc Road and San Jose Boulevard on the east. Its close proximity to Interstate 295 affords residents access to many other parts of Jacksonville.

Boating is a popular pastime for residents in Beauclerc, who have easy access to nearby St. Johns River. There are a number of marinas in the area, including the Epping Forest Yacht Club, with its lush formal English gardens and Spanish Renaissance-style riverfront mansion. It was built in 1927 by industrialist Alfred I. Dupont. Fishing at nearby Plummers Cove is a quick and easy way to drop a line, and Pickwick Park is a popular destination for area families. Pickwick Park has playground equipment for younger children, two pavilions with picnic tables and grills, a large climbing boulder, two small rock-climbing boulders and an adult fitness trail featuring 10 fitness stations.

Families flock to Beauclerc for its top-notch schools. Beauclerc Elementary, DuPont Middle School and Wolfson High School are highly rated, and the prestigious Bolle’s School (San Jose campus), founded in 1933 and serving grades 9-12, is located in the area.

For shopping, many residents head to the Mandarin Landing Shopping Center and Courtyard Shopping Center.
