College Park Neighborhood

College Park is a suburban community located approximately ten miles north of the city of Jacksonville, Florida. It is centrally located east of Interstate 295, and west of Interstate 95, in Duval County’s 32218 zip code. Capper Road and Lem Turner Road provide access to local churches, schools, parks, and shopping centers.

Schools in the area include the Henry F. Kite Elementary School, Highlands Middle School, and the Bible Baptist Academy. Florida State College is just a few miles north of College Park on North Campus Boulevard. Courses of study include aerospace, education, health sciences, transportation, technology, and culinary arts.

Riverview Park is across the Trout River on East Water Street. In addition to having a great waterfront view of Florida’s unique wildlife, there is an athletic field, a playground, fishing areas, and a senior center.

Among the advantages of living in College Park is its easy access to the historic city of Jacksonville. While the city itself was established in 1822, archeologists believe the area has been inhabited for thousands of years. Artifacts dating back to 2500BC have been unearthed in Jacksonville.

Modern-day Jacksonville is a sophisticated city with community theatres, convention centers, museums, colleges, and is surrounded by thousands of acres of wildlife preservation management areas and sanctuaries. Sports fans can root for the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars, or follow the Professional Golf Association Players Championship tour. Soccer, baseball, and basketball teams also maintain home fields in Jacksonville.
