Hogan’s Creek Neighborhood

Hogan’s Creek is located in Jacksonville, Florida, just northwest of downtown. This small neighborhood is predominately residential, but it does have some businesses near it. The area’s botanical appeal is evident with its mature plant growth and fully grown trees and tropical wildflowers.

The houses in this area are modest in size, but are large in appeal. Hogan’s Creek has a great number of amenities available for the residents to take advantage of.

Within walking distance of Hogan’s Creek is Springfield Park. This park is a great place to spend a weekend day and relax. Springfield Park offers walking trails, biking trails, picnic areas, small pond fishing, and spectacular nature to take in. With thirty acres of parkland, Springfield Park is not your run-of-the-mill city park. The picnic areas are sprawled out and away from other picnic pavilions; this will give you a feeling of privacy while enjoying your afternoon. If you happen to have a canoe, kayak, or a paddle boat, you can enjoy taking it out on the small lake within the park and dropping a fishing line in the water to reel in your catch of the day.

The walking and biking trails here are beautiful, winding along Hogan’s Creek. This is a very popular spot for Jacksonville walkers and joggers.

The small creek for which the neighborhood was named that runs through Springfield Park, has a lot of history behind it. Hogan’s Creek served as a natural fire preventer during the Great Fire, saving homes and businesses from the flames that ripped through Downtown Jacksonville in the 1900’s.

Just a stone’s throw away from Hogan’s Creek is Darnell-Cookman School of the Medical Arts. This medical school is home to some of Florida’s brightest medical minds and has quite an extensive waiting list to enroll.
