Phoenix Neighborhood

Phoenix is a neighborhood in Gainesville, Florida. The zip code is 32608. It is located between Southwest 23rd Street on the east to Southwest 35th Place on the south. Southwest 26th Way is the border to the west and Southwest 31st Place on the north. It is located just to the south of the University of Florida and west across the street from the Animal Storage Barns that belong to the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine.

Phoenix is a densely populated residential area with a wide selection of accommodation types. There are apartments, townhouses, multi-family and a few single-family detached homes. There are sidewalks on some of the streets. This neighborhood is close enough to the university to provide a convenient home for students, staff, and teachers.

Gainesville Country Club is located adjacent to the Paynes Prairie State Preserve and is a private member-owned club. The 18 holes were originally designed by George Cobb but were redesigned by Mark McCumber in 1994. This is an attractive courses surrounded by hundred-year old oaks and with plenty of challenge for any golfer. In addition to golf, the club offers tennis and a swimming pool. For the youngest members there is a playground and a kiddie pool. There is fine dining in the club house for lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch.

When the residents of the neighborhood want to go shopping, there is a Publix Super Market on Southwest 35th Boulevard. Where Southwest Archer Rd meets Southwest 34th Road there are a variety of shopping and dining options. Among the offerings are Starbucks, Carrabbas Italian Grill, Radio Shack, CVS Pharmacy, Walmart, Chili’s, Panera Bread, and Olive Garden.
