Suburban Melbourne Neighborhood

Suburban Melbourne, Florida is located along Central Florida’s east coast. This beachfront community offers a variety of neighborhoods, many just minutes from the area’s popular beaches. These neighborhoods include Melbourne Village Gardens, Highlands of Viera East, Westlake Village, and Whispering Winds.

Brevard Zoo opened in 1994 thanks to the efforts and support of residents who donated their money and their time. Over 16,000 residents contributed to the effort, and today the zoo has four distinctive habitats, as well as a hands-on play area. Residents enjoy walking through the area, and there is dining in the zoo and picnic tables outside.

Rotary Park is a 10-acre community park located on the shore of the Indian River Lagoon. A fishing pier provides a popular place to fish, or take a stroll and enjoy the views and sunsets. A boardwalk goes along the shore and offers picnic shelters and grills. The park has a large parking lot, and a playground is nearby.

Suntree Viera Public Library Branch of the Brevard County Library is a short drive away from this community. It is open six days a week and offers public access to computers and wireless internet, in addition to a wide selection of books and periodicals.

The neighborhood’s location, directly west of bustling Interstate 95, gives motorists access to one of Florida’s major roadways. The Melbourne International Airport and Amtrak are also minutes away.

The neighborhood is close to three popular public golf destinations. The Duran Golf Club includes the nine-hole Duran Short course and the 18-hole Duran Championship Course to challenge golf enthusiasts. The Viera East Golf Club is an 18-hole championship golf course designed by golf architect Joe Lee, which boasts an exciting and vibrant golf experience for golfers of all ages and abilities.

The Art Gallery of Viera is a fine art gallery that serves the cities of Central Florida. The gallery features the work of local artists and hosts classes and workshops. Receptions are held here for art shows and visiting art exhibits.

Shopping enthusiasts get to take advantage of the sunny Florida weather when they visit the Avenue Viera. The outdoor shopping mall, which features national retail giants and restaurants, is designed with the outdoors in mind. Avenue Viera scenery includes courtyards, sculpture, and landscaping.
