Brent-NW Pensacola Neighborhood

Brent is a large census-designated area on the north side of Pensacola. It is bordered by I-10 to the north and I-110 to the west. Brent is close to Cordova Mall and the Pensacola International Airport. Brent offers a coastal lifestyle, with Pensacola Bay separating the mainland from Pensacola Beach, home of Gulf Islands National Seashore.

As one of Florida’s most naturally beautiful areas, Pensacola is home to several nature preserves and parks. In addition to Gulf Islands National Seashore, spend some time exploring Big Lagoon State Park Naval Live Oaks Nature Preserve, and Tarkiln Bayou Preserve State Park. For those who like to combine a little history with that natural beauty, be sure to visit historic Fort Pickens – part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The fort was built around 1829 and was the largest of four forts built to defend Pensacola Bay. The National Naval Aviation Museum is another terrific location; it is located near Pensacola NAS.

Brent is a popular destination for students, as well. Pensacola Christian College is located in Brent – for apartments near the college, look in the neighborhoods of Melrose Park, Norwood, Lambert Oaks, and White Sands. The University of West Florida is just north of Brent, along the Escambia River. Shorten your commute time to the university by renting an apartment in north Brent. Neighborhoods in this area include Willow Tree Acres, Cascade Hills, Twin Lakes, Malary Park, and Lost Creek.
